Renault Arkana has earned itself one of the most prestigious prizes in the Spanish automotive sector: “ABC Best Car of the Year 2022”. This is the tenth time that Renault has won the prize. The Renault 5 won the first ever edition of this prize in 1972 and has done so again 50 years later with Renault Arkana, the first vehicle of the Renaulution era.
The ABC newspaper awards its “ABC Best Car of the Year Prize” every year. It has become one of the most prestigious awards in the sector and recognises the best vehicle brought to market in the last 12 months. This year, the 50th anniversary of these awards, 12 car models were selected as finalists by the professionals of the auto section of the ABC newspaper. A professional panel made up by 36 journalists from various media accounted for 70% of the vote, another 25% went to the subscribers of ABC Premium and the final 5% to registered users with accounts on ABC.es.
At an event held this morning at the newspaper’s headquarters in Madrid, a notary public read out the list of winners. He announced Arkana as the winner of this edition, adding that it won by a large majority. This means that the Renault model was the favourite of both the professional panel and ABC readers, while 25% of the ABC Premium readers and 54.1% of readers registered on ABC.es chose Arkana as their favourite car.
